KRAFTANGAN MALAYSIA SARAWAK
Kraftangan Malaysia is
the Government agency tasked with developing and preserving Malaysia’s handicrafts industry. Their Sarawak branch was one of the participating designers for ISEND-WEFT 2012.
They showcased elegant traditional wear with a contemporary twist, using recycled natural dyes with the tie-dye and hand-drawn batik technique. Their eco- friendly natural colourings are made from discarded items such as the skins of onions, mangosteens and various other local fruits
to produce rich shades of black, brown, yellow and purple.
