Developing
a Nation’s
Greatest Asset
The fundamental principles on which Malaysia’s national education system is based are reflections of the country’s colourful history
and its multi-racial society. The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) governs all national education- related matters
from preschool to secondary level,
while tertiary and other higher-level education is governed by the Ministry of Higher Education. Both ministries work together to provide all Malaysians with equal access to quality education, in order
to develop a highly- skilled, knowledgeable and united population. According to Malaysia’s Department of Statistics, the literacy rate among the population aged 15-24 years in 2019 was 99.1% for males and 99.2% for females.
