Kuching Waterfront is a popular and scenic promenade, with a variety of facilities for entertainment, recreation and dining. Opened in 1993, it
has won several international awards for its civil design, landscaping and multi-purpose usage.
MAIN FEATURES
Dotted with wooden benches, food stalls, restaurants and entertainment facilities the Waterfront area includes a number of historic buildings which have been preserved and restored. These include: the Chinese History Museum,

LOCATION / ROUTE
Located in the heart of the city on the southern bank
of the Sarawak River along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Main Bazaar, this 900 metre long promenade is within walking distance of most major hotels.
HOW TO GET THERE
Bus: K1, K2, K11 & K16 (Kuching City Public Link) and No. 1 (Rapid) buses stop here. A Taxi stand is in the vicinity.
Even in the middle of the day, the Kuching Waterfront offers many shaded spots from which to enjoy the superb views.
Building, now housing retail shops and eateries; The Godown Amphitheatre, venue for concerts and cultural performances; The Square Tower, erected in 1879, a former fortress, jail and dance hall now awaiting transformation into a
gallery and exhibition hall; and the Chinese Pavilion, restored and transported from its original location at the western end of the
Waterfront.
Here are also the Hornbill
Fountain - an abstract water- cascading metallic sculpture depicting flying hornbills, the State bird of Sarawak; the Waterfront Square, an open space for various events and functions; and the Sarawak Tourism Federation office - open 9am to 5pm daily, located next to the Kuching Waterfront Management office.
