INTEGRATED RESORTS - FOREWORD
The idea of an integrated resort - a one-stop site for accommodation, hospitality, meetings, conferences, activities and entertainment - is still a relatively new one in Sarawak; the first integrated beach resort was only opened in the 1980’s. Nevertheless, the concept has become increasingly popular and Sarawak now offers a range of integrated resorts catering for every budget and almost every interest.
The great strength of Sarawak’s integrated resorts is that no two are even remotely the same; each caters for a particular type of location or special interest. Sun lovers are well provided for with beach resorts poised between the rainforest and the South China Sea, yet even these are quite distinct, offering luxurious comfort and spa facilities to pamper every guest, or a rugged adventure and activity experience where guests get hands-on with nature.
Inland, the variety and uniqueness becomes even more distinct. Visitors can choose from a mountain hideaway that offers golfing in the clouds; a themed jungle resort that provides a revealing insight into the rainforest; a luxurious eco resort within a World Heritage Site; and even a unique longhouse resort on the shores of a giant hydro lake.
Sarawak’s integrated resorts offer a variety of fascinating and enjoyable experiences for both seasoned travellers and newcomers exploring the Borneo rainforest for the very first time. They are perfect for family holidays, conferences, corporate retreats, team building activities and unique incentive trips. For visitors who wish to discover Sarawak in comfort and luxury, there could be no finer choice.
