DBKU Orchid Park
This 15.4-acre garden is located next to the Astana on the north bank of the Sarawak River. It houses
an exceptional collection
of over 80,000 plants belonging to 82 genera, including Sarawak’s
state flower the Normah Orchid (Phalaenopsis bellina), the Lady’s

Agriculture Research Centre Semongok
This large (203 hectare) research centre grows a wide variety of experimental plants. Fruit plants include durian, rambutan, langsat, various citruses such as pomelos, dabai, etc., as well as a fruit tree arboretum. Vegetable research is primarily on indigenous local species, including the edible wild miding fern. Field crop research focuses on non-rice starch staples such as cassava, sweet potato, taro and yams. Over 150 varieties of native and non-native herbs and spices are also cultivated here. Rampangi Integrated Experimental Station This 20-hectare station located on the Santubong Peninsula near Kuching
is dedicated to research
on acid sulphate soil
and the types of crops
that can be successfully grown thereon. The plants successfully grown here include perennial tree crops such as coconut, cashew nut, sago, coffee and pepper; and annual crops including cassava, sweet potato, sweetcorn, terung dayak and chilli. A herb garden houses varies types of herbal and medicinal plants and the orchards produce a huge variety of fruits, including pineapple, durian, mango, wax apple, starfruit, papaya, pulasan, jackfruit, cempedak and and many more. Kabuloh Station Miri
This busy agricultural station conducts research on crops of agricultural importance including indigenous and exotic fruits, annual crops and herbal plants. Exotic fruits also include the so-called Miracle Fruits, Jaboticaba and Abiu. The centre also provides training on aquaculture
