Kelab Golf Sarawak (Sarawak Golf Club or “KGS”) was founded in 1985 and sprawls across gently rolling terrain just to the north of Kuching. It
is Sarawak’s only 36- hole club and also the state’s largest private club with over 3,200 members.
Located to the south of the majestic pyramid-shaped clubhouse, the Matang/Santubong Course is named after two famous

The imposing pyramid-shaped clubhouse is one of Petra Jaya’s most striking landmarks.

and Mount Santubong, both visible from the course. This newly upgraded par-72, 6,394-metre course is designed to test accuracy and course management skills. The undulating paspalum fairways and strategically positioned hazards provide
a great challenge to high handicappers and scratch players alike.
North of the clubhouse, the par-72, 6,224-metre Siol/ Demak Course is reckoned by experienced players to
be slightly less difficult. Nevertheless, its narrow fairways and numerous water hazards require precision ball striking skills and accurate placement. Wayward tee shots invariably end up in the many ponds guarding the par-3 holes, especially hole 6 of
the Siol 9.
KGS has hosted many
leading tournaments, including the Malaysian Amateur Open, the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Cup (junior international event), the Sarawak Classic, the Sarawak Masters and the
