Property & Architecture
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY
Sarawak has a wide selection of residential properties to suit every taste and pocket. The residential property sector is buoyant, with demand driven mostly by local buyers seeking a first home or trading up, although local property investors and overseas buyers are starting to play a larger role. Most landed property is leasehold, although the Sarawak State Government has an excellent record
of renewing expired land leases at modest premiums. Potential buyers should note that
they are not eligible to buy properties built on gazetted Native Land or those costing under RM300,000 (except for some designated
apartment developments) although they may freely rent such properties.
