Sarawak STOL PORTS
The MASwings Rural Air Service is an important lifeline for Sarawak’s remote northern interior. Operating from its
base in Miri, its fleet of DHC6 Twin Otter 19-seat turboprop aircraft provide vital transport links to eight rural STOLports (operated by Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd), which serve small rural towns and isolated communities that are inaccessible by road or water transport. Unless otherwise indicated, contact via Miri Airport (see page 400).
NOTE
The Rural Air Service baggage limit is 10kg. If the aircraft is fully loaded, excess baggage will not be permitted. All passengers (as well as their baggage) are weighed before boarding to prevent overloading.
