Malaysia's Diving Delights

Posted on: | Category:

Situated adjacent to the Coral Triangle, the largest concentration of marine bio-diversity in the world, Malaysia offers world-class diving for experienced divers but is also ideal for new divers and those undertaking recreational diver training. Healthy reefs with spectacular marine life, warm, clear waters and relatively mild currents in the South China Sea provide an ideal environment for visitors to enjoy the wonders of the tropical seas at first hand

The east coast of Peninsular Malaysia can be dived from March to September while diving in East Malaysia is year-round with water temperatures of 82-86°F (28-30°C). In the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, islands like Redang, Perhentian, Lang Tengah, Tenggol and Tioman are suitable for new divers but also attract experienced divers. There are many dive operators to choose from and stretches of healthy coral reef to explore.

Diving is more exciting in East Malaysia. Miri in the state of Sarawak offers divers the Miri-Sibuti Coral Reefs National Park. In Sabah there is access to world-class diving at Sipadan Island, Malaysia’s only oceanic island rising some 2000 feet from the ocean floor.
