- Pustaka offers a range of well-equipped and spacious rental facilities suitable
for various functions and activities.
Depository Services
Pustaka Negeri Sarawak also functions as the State Depository for material published in Sarawak
and for the custody and preservation of archives. Depository Services
consist of:
Sarawakiana: devoted to collecting, organizing and preserving materials - such as paintings, rare books, textiles and regalia - and making them accessible to the public.
Legal Deposit: statutory provision, which obliges publishers to deposit copies of their publications created in Sarawak.
Records Management: focuses on managing records of the Sarawak State Government from creation to disposition.
Archives Management: preserves records that have been appraised and selected for preservation based on their value.
Reference Services – available online (GENIE) and in person from experienced staff.
Current Awareness Services - information on journals and magazines subscribed by Pustaka for use as reference. Notification by email.
Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) - to assist users to keep up-to-date with current literature in particular subject areas. Interlibrary Loan Services - a resource sharing concept allowing Pustaka to access information available at
other libraries.
Business Information Service - information brokering tasks performed by information professionals (5 different services are offered, subject to charges). Outreach Program - meeting potential users
to conduct briefings and discussions on services and facilities offered. Pustaka has successfully completed more than 100 activities
in rural libraries and 1,000 more for public, schools, government agencies and institutions.
