Nyala Muong Longhouse, Jalan Bukong, Engkilili, off the Trans-Borneo Highway The Batu Nabau is a large (9m x 2m) rock resembling a giant snake close to the longhouse, spanning the Bukong River. The light green markings on the rock enhance its snake-like appearance.

The clear, fast-flowing
and scenic Lemanak
River is well known
for its traditional Iban longhouses, many of which happily welcome visitors. Access upriver is usually via package trips with Kuching-based tour operators.
RUMAH SRI AMAN HERITAGE BUILDING
The daily tidal bore at Sri Aman. This remarkable tidal phenomenon almost ended the life and literary career of W. Somerset Maugham.

Perched on a hill overlooking the town, this former British Residency is where the peace treaty was signed between the Malaysian Government and communist insurrectionists on 21st October 1973.

GRAVE OF DAYANG ISAH TADANGSARI

Kampung Kalok, Pusa
Just outside the village is a historical grave site, the last resting place of Dayang Isah Tadangsari, a beautiful and tragic noblewoman who was so burdened with unwanted suitors that she committed suicide to preserve her husband’s reputation.

RUMAH KRAFTANGAN MALANG AK JABU Rumah Ngumbang, Nanga Ayam, Julau.
A small handicraft centre featuring traditional Iban crafts. Famous for quality blowpipes, it also offers woodcarvings and textiles. Craftspeople can usually be seen at work.
