ST AUGUSTINE’S CHURCH (ANGLICAN) Jalan Sie Kwang Ngak, Betong
Originally the base for Anglican missionary work among the Ibans
of the Saribas area, this large air-conditioned church celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2011.

MOSQUES
MASJID AL- MUTTAQIN
Jalan Masjid Baru, Sarikei
This attractive blue and gold mosque with free- standing minaret was built in 1983 to replace an old wooden mosque on the same site.
CHURCHES
METHODIST TOWN CHURCH
Jalan Masjid Lama, Sarikei One of the oldest Methodist churches in Sarawak, this traditional brick-built church was built in 1921 and remains largely unchanged to the present day.

MASJID AN-NUR
Jalan Masjid, Sibu
This large modern mosque features a gilded dome and free-standing minaret. It
is also the location of the Sarawak Heroes Mausoleum, where the remains of executed freedom-fighters Rosli Dhobi, Morshidi Sidek, Awang Ramli Amit Mohd Deli and Bujang Suntong are interred.

SACRED HEART CATHEDRAL (RC)
Jalan Lanag, Sibu
Seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sibu, Sacred Heart Church was established by British Mill Hill Missionaries in 1899. The current building was built and consecrated as a cathedral in 1985.
MASLAND METHODIST CHURCH
Hoover Square, Jalan Pulau, Sibu
This elegant modern church is the direct descendant
of the church founded
by American missionary Rev. James Hoover,
the father of Sarawak
Methodism, in 1905. The church can accommodate a congregation of 1,700, with room for an additional 1,000 in the adjacent square.
CHINESE TEMPLES
TUA PEK KONG TEMPLE & KUAN YIN PAGODA
Jalan Wharf, Sibu
The oldest and best preserved Chinese temple in Sibu dates from the 1870’s and features a 7-storey pagoda dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, added
in 1987, one of the most perfectly proportioned pagodas outside Mainland China.
YU LUNG SAN
TIEN EN SI TEMPLE
Km 26, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu, Sibu
Also known as the Jade Dragon Temple, this sprawling temple complex was built in 2009 at a cost of RM60 million. Its mission is to bring together devotees of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism to worship together.

MASJID SETIA RAJA
Setia Raja Boulevard, Mukah
                  The Yu Lun San Tien En Si (or Jade Dragon) Temple near Sibu is the largest Chinese temple complex in Southeast Asia.
The elegant Setia Raja Mosque reflects the indigenous Melanau culture in Mukah; its roof is designed in the form of a Terendak or Melanau sun hat.
