Kuching Port is the main port servicing southwest Sarawak, and the oldest established port in the state, operating since 1961. The port has two terminals; Pending, just downriver from the city of Kuching
on the Sarawak River, with berthing for vessels up to 12,500 DWT, and Senari, a deep-water terminal further downriver, with berthing for vessels up to 20,000 DWT. Larger vessels (up to 55,000 DWT) can be handled by prior arrangement. Both terminals are connected by road and coastal sea routes to all major towns and cities in Sarawak, while numerous shipping lines connect to regional hub ports. The Port Authority also operates
an inland port at Tebedu, close to the border with Indonesia.
Kuching Port’s Senari Terminal is the principal cargo gateway to Southwest Sarawak.
